BC Secure Solutions (BCSS) provides workplace compliance services, specimen collection, fingerprinting, identity verification, notary services, and administrative support for employers, laboratories, agencies, and individuals. Depending on the service provided, different federal and state privacy laws may apply, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), 45 CFR Parts 160 & 164, U.S. Department of Transportation regulations (49 CFR Part 40), and other applicable laws.
This notice applies to services provided by BC Secure Solutions that involve the collection of personal, demographic, or health-related information.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information when providing services:
Demographic Information
Name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, employer information, government identification, and other identifying information.
Service Information
Information related to the service being performed, including but not limited to drug and alcohol testing, specimen collection, fingerprinting, DNA collections, notary services, identity verification, workplace compliance programs, or other administrative services.
Health or Testing Information
Limited medical or testing information necessary for specimen collection, drug and alcohol testing, breath alcohol testing (BAT), oral fluid testing, hair testing, DNA collections, phlebotomy, or compliance with federal, state, or Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
BC Secure Solutions may act as a service agent, collection site, contractor, or business associate for laboratories, employers, government agencies, or other organizations.
2. How We May Use and Disclose Your Information
We may use and disclose information for the following purposes:
Service Performance
To perform specimen collections, verify identity, complete fingerprinting, perform notary services, or provide workplace compliance services.
For Testing and Compliance
Information may be shared with laboratories, Medical Review Officers (MRO), Breath Alcohol Technicians (BAT), Substance Abuse Professionals (SAP), employers, agencies, or other authorized parties as required to complete the requested service.
For Payment
To bill you, your employer, insurance carrier, or contracting agency for services provided.
For Business Operations
For quality assurance, staff training, recordkeeping, audits, accreditation, and compliance with company policies.
As Required by Law
We may disclose information when required by federal, state, or local law, including audits, investigations, court orders, or public safety requirements.
Department of Transportation (DOT) Services
When services are performed under U.S. Department of Transportation regulations (49 CFR Part 40), information may be disclosed to employers, Medical Review Officers, laboratories, Substance Abuse Professionals, and regulatory agencies as required by federal law.
HIPAA-Related Services
When protected health information is involved, BC Secure Solutions will follow applicable HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
Authorization
We will not use or disclose protected health information for marketing or unrelated purposes without written authorization when required by law.
3. Services That May Not Be Covered by HIPAA
Some services provided by BC Secure Solutions, including fingerprinting, identity verification, notary services, background-related services, and certain workplace programs, may involve collection of personal information but may not be considered medical information under HIPAA. In these cases, information will still be protected in accordance with applicable federal and state privacy laws and company policy.

Information submitted through our website, scheduling forms, or online portals may include personal or demographic information. This information is used only to:
Access to this information is limited to authorized BC Secure Solutions personnel who need it to perform their duties.

We do not sell personal or health information.
